Goodness is closely tied with kindness. In Greek it means "uprightness of heart and life." It denotes an integrity of heart and action. We learn from Jesus that the good tree bears good fruit. We are only good when we abide in Christ, but as follower of Jesus we should make an effort in all of our relationships to do the right thing at all times. This takes perseverance. Paul tells the Galatians later, "do not grow weary in doing good."
